It will help you live with unstoppable strength unmovable faith , unbelievable power ….

It’s time to claim and live as an overcomer

Overcome fear with faith

The law of the pendulum is this: A pendulum can never return to a point higher than the point from which it was released. Because of friction and gravity, when the pendulum returns, it will fall short of its original release point. Each time it swings it makes less and less of an arc, until finally it is at rest. This point of rest is called the state of equilibrium, where all forces acting on the pendulum are equal.

Story By Ken Davis – The Law of the Pendulum

In college I was asked to prepare a lesson to teach my speech class. We were to be graded on our creativity and ability to drive home a point in a memorable way. The title of my talk was, “The Law of the Pendulum.” I spent 20 minutes carefully teaching the physical principle that governs a swinging pendulum. The law of the pendulum is: A pendulum can never return to a point higher than the point from which it was released. Because of friction and gravity, when the pendulum returns, it will fall short of its original release point. Each time it swings it makes less and less of an arc, until finally it is at rest. This point of rest is called the state of equilibrium, where all forces acting on the pendulum are equal.

I attached a 3-foot string to a child’s toy top and secured it to the top of the blackboard with a thumbtack. I pulled the top to one side and made a mark on the blackboard where I let it go. Each time it swung back I made a new mark. It took less than a minute for the top to complete its swinging and come to rest. When I finished the demonstration, the markings on the blackboard proved my thesis.

I then asked how many people in the room BELIEVED the law of the pendulum was true. All of my classmates raised their hands, so did the teacher. He started to walk to the front of the room thinking the class was over. In reality it had just begun. Hanging from the steel ceiling beams in the middle of the room was a large, crude but functional pendulum (250 pounds of metal weights tied to four strands of 500-pound test parachute cord.).

I invited the instructor to climb up on a table and sit in a chair with the back of his head against a cement wall. Then I brought the 250 pounds of metal up to his nose. Holding the huge pendulum just a fraction of an inch from his face, I once again explained the law of the pendulum he had applauded only moments before, “If the law of the pendulum is true, then when I release this mass of metal, it will swing across the room and return short of the release point. Your nose will be in no danger.”

After that final restatement of this law, I looked him in the eye and asked, “Sir, do you believe this law is true?”

There was a long pause. Huge beads of sweat formed on his upper lip and then weakly he nodded and whispered, “Yes.”

I released the pendulum. It made a swishing sound as it arced across the room. At the far end of its swing, it paused momentarily and started back. I never saw a man move so fast in my life. He literally dived from the table. Deftly stepping around the still-swinging pendulum, I asked the class, “Does he believe in the law of the pendulum?”

The students unanimously answered, “NO!”

Law Of The Pendulum

So what happened to his faith in the law of the pendulum  ?  He knew it was true yet he ran out of the way.  He didn’t put his faith in the test, you see faith can only be proven by our actions. You cannot say you believe and not put your faith to action.

For followers of Jesus a lack of faith is seldom related to disbelief but it’s usually a matter of fear

As Cs Lewis wrote “ Faith is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted, in spite of your changing moods” our moods are  our emotions   things like fear and if we haven’t learned to master our emotions it can destroy our trust in what we know to be true.

We often think of faith as some sort of Biblical term

We live on faith every day even if you are not a Christian you live by faith daily.

When you travel, you are living by faith – getting into a plane that is flying through the air at 500 miles per hour not knowing the crew and yet believing they will get you there safely.

You have faith when in your car that the green light you just went through was red on the other direction.

Ephesians 6 :16  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

As a Christian you must know that you will get bombarded by thousands of flaming arrows  and they are called temptation, lies, evil, stealing, doubt, sadness, anxiety and the only way you will be able to stand up to all this and protect yourself is through your faith, read your bible, strive to be a better person. Know that all lies and I mean all lies come from evil.

How does faith work and how do we get it how do we develop it and how does it over come fear?

1 John 5:4  “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world– our faith.”

Having faith means we move forward even when we do know what is ahead.

Hebrews 11:1   Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

You can grow your faith

Here’s is what the Bible says we need

  1. To grow your faith we need preaching of facts Romans 10:17 When God tells us to do something and we do it we are strengthening our faith and so we are pleasing God.
  2. To grow your faith you need problems. I know this one is rough to grasp but we all have problems and so we all have a chance to grow our faith. We don’t wake up saying Lord give me some problems , we all want a smooth life, happy family, great health, amazing friends ,  enough money to pay the bills, great kids who listen to our every word. Problems hit us like storms and cause us waves of fear. I don’t like problems, and I am sure you don’t as well. But I have learned to deal with my problems and rely on God to see me through , my faith over the years have grown, and yours can too. Problems are God’s way to draw us near to him it teaches us to lean on him in any situation and grow our confidence in the amazing unseen reality of of our Lord.  When you have a chronic illness and say you are in a hospital bed the only place you can look is up , if you are in jail , or a rehab, you lost a loved one. Don’t wait to hit the bottom to reach out to God. We have a tendency to trust more in our self and lean on our own understandings than in God. God uses problems to strengthen our faith not to punish us . Don’t try everything then say prayer is your last resort. Make it the go to first and always in good and in not so good times.

Ask God what are you trying to teach me when you are faced with problem’s , not why God.

  1. We grow our faith, We need people – don’t be isolated put yourself in a group of believers not those who don’t listen to God. You will get closer to God by being around others who also worship God.  God gives us a purpose that will challenge us and teach us in many ways. He will strengthen our faith. You learn faith by stretching our faith muscles.
  2. To Grow our faith we need purpose and prospective- in Luke 17:5-6  The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you. Jesus means not the size of your faith that counts it’s the size of your God that counts. They needed prospective to grow their faith. God is able to do anything and everything.  Suppose you went to Minnesota fishing in the winter would you have a little faith in 2 feet of ice or a lot of faith in 1 inch of ice? You see it’s not about how much faith we have its how secure the object of our faith is.  No matter how small your faith is keep praying and it will grow. Trust in God he will see you through anything.

Remember you are called to walk in victory , the most important step is putting your faith in God and trust whatever your dealing with or going through he will see you through.

The most important relationship for every one of us is our relationship with Jesus Christ.  Choosing to believe that he is who he claimed to be—the Son of God and the only way to salvation—and receiving him by faith as your Lord and Savior is the most vital act anyone will ever do.  We want life.  He is Life.  We need cleansing.  He is the Living Water.

Here is a simple prayer if you have not yet given your life to Jesus and invited him into yours:

Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, that you died on the cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me to the Father. I choose now to turn from my sins, and every part of my life that does not please you. I choose you. I receive your forgiveness and ask you to take your rightful place in my life as my Savior and Lord. Come reign in my heart, fill me with your love and your life, and help me to become a person who is truly a person like you.  Guide me so I do right as my choices are not always the best. Teach me to live in faith . Restore me, Jesus. Live in me. Love through me. Thank you, God for loving me knowing I am not perfect. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

This is what I learned by watching David Jeremiah

~My Tools For Life~

Tools for Life

Living by Faith When Your Body Hurts or When You Are Stressed To The Max

When we have chronic stress it can bring on chronic illness and also make our pain worse.

The pain people feel with chronic conditions or chronic pain can make us feel isolated and sometimes helpless, especially if its cause is an illness or physical condition for which there’s no cure or really any effective medical treatment. Chronic stress also can be debilitating.

It seems that in times of despair, that’s when we have to keep finding ways to nurture our spirit, to help us not only cope with the pain, and worry but also discover moments of peace and at times grace so it can allow us to move us through and beyond the helplessness and hopelessness we may feel.

Here are a few life tools that can help you get started toward more peace in spite of and in the midst of pain , worry and stress.

1. We have to just breathe

The act of breathing is not only a physical process, but it can also be a tool to cope with pain and worry .

Go to a quiet place, breathe in slowly and deeply, then let the breath out, expelling stress and pain with it. You will feel the sharpness of the pain start to subside as relaxation and calmness move in its place.

I have used this for physical pain, emotional pain. I do this as I pray.

I give it all to God .

I do think for a few breaths in and out and then I just sit in quiet and thank God for helping me , removing any pain or worry I may have.

2. Place some music

Put on your favorite piece of music – instrumental or vocal – sit back, and close your eyes. Let the music carry you away from your immediate pain to a place of calm.

3. Take a walk or go out into nature

Pain can be son isolating and make us feel alone. Enjoy the outdoors, a glance outside at a garden, a quiet moment surrounded by flowers or trees or ocean any of these things can renew our senses. It will make you see you are part of this big beautiful world God created. Be grateful.

4. Laugh more

When have you laughed your ass off? Has it been that long ago? Put in a good comedy. And it will release tension from your entire body.

5. Never give up or lose hope

Each day, there are new advances in medicine and in therapies to ease pain, inside and out. New cures are on the horizon.

In closing I don’t ever want you to pray and then as soon as your finished worry about it.

When you pray give it to God.

Allow him to work in your life.

Trust in him.

Are You Walking With God

I have always been a believer and sure like everyone else there were times in my life I questioned things.

But I always knew in my heart God was in my heart and my creator .

I will never be perfect only God is perfect but I have tried to walk with God , I still need some work.

Because again I am not perfect.

Are you walking with God ?

When you come to the end of your life what do you want to be remembered for?

Your kindness -your love -your generosity-your wisdom – your skills-your faithfulness to God

Or do you want to be remembered as a hateful selfish angry person who has so much stinginess and greed in their heart

I want to be remembered by my walk with God

It means – to keep him in the center of our thinking- in every thing we do- and think – our relationships and plans and finances in every area of our life.

Try not to allow sin to temp you. And trust me it will , it will tempt to the point that you will convince yourself sin is ok.

You are persuading yourself to do the wrong thing.

Defeat the devil and sin before he defeats you.

Genesis 5: 21-24

I think when they talk about years it means seasons.

Temptation is all around us, as even Jesus was tempted in the desert, so Christians can protect themselves against stumbling in their walk through memorizing Scriptures about temptation.

Luke 22:40

On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”

When we are going through problems, grief, sadness, illness, addiction job loss, loneliness god will carry us through. We just have to get in our bible and pray. He will show you the path.

To walk with Hod we must do the following

1. Accept Jesus as our personal savior

2. We must learn to pray and listen to God. Pray is essential he will show you things.

3. We have to Trust him. If you don’t trust in the Lord you can’t walk with the Lord. Look at Proverbs 3:5-6

4. Agree with him. Have u ever disagreed with God? Of course we have we have to stop that.

5. We have to agree with God and Obey him. Obedience is essential. Stop making excuses and try it. Partial obedience is actually disobedience. Wake up every day and surrender your life to god and obey him. It’s easy to say your walking with god but are you really?

6. Walk in the same direction as god wants you – that’s where we pray and everyday get up and say thank you god for this day and help me walk with you.

7. You can’t have all your old friends and walk with God. Some people are not really your friends

8. Stay in step with God- you can’t get ahead of God you use your Bible as your compass. Instep means God and you are together.

9. It’s not easy to live a Godly life but it’s the best way to walk.

10. Listening and thinking about God are not the same thing. As a parent you teach your kids to listen to you. So you are safe. God knows what’s best, you can trust him in everything things will happen in his timing. Please try this.

11. We have to live God – if we live him we will wait on his timing and we will obey him.

12. Forsake sin- keep your heart clean all the time. Stop having sex if you can not afford to have possible children. Stop doing drugs that are illegal or not meant for you. Stop questioning God. You can’t have sin and holiness at the same time. God knows we are not perfect but we have to try to be the best person we can be.

13.Follow the simple steps and don’t forget to talk to god right before you go to sleep.

14.This is walking with God. Ask God to show you what he wants for you. Start stopping all the sin in your life. Go back a few years ago to when you heart was pure and with God. Get back on that path.

I want to be remembered as a woman who helped people and who loved and walked with God.

God will never leave his sons and daughters.

One night a man had a dream.

He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.

For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:

one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him

he looked back, at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of his life

there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:

“LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you,

you’d walk with me all the way.

But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life

there is only one set of footprints.

I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.”

The LORD replied:

“My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you,

During your times of trial and suffering,

when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

Lent : Fast and Feast : A Spiritual Journey

Tomorrow … The day that starts Lent many often give up candy, cookies, smoking, drinking.

You don’t have to just limit it to food

I have heard many comments about what people are giving up for Lent. It has been traditional to fast during Lent, often from a certain food or substance.

When I was growing up we didn’t eat meat on Fridays during Lent. I still don’t. And for my family and the catholic school I attended in elementary school it was a time of reflection.

Lent is a blessed time: we can slow down and actively reflect on our spiritual journey. We can change the course of our life.

This year I was fascinated with the number of people who either said they were giving up Facebook Twitter and Snapchat for Lent or were cutting back on the amount of time they spent on Social Media

. I am curious, how does fasting from Facebook Snapchat and Twitter deepen your relationship with God? (Seriously, I am curious. If you did this, please write back to me and tell me.)

I can imagine that maybe the time that you save because you are not looking at FB and Twitter, Snapchat could be used for other things, like prayer, meditation, or sacred reading.

Are there other ways fasting from FB deepens your faith?

I use social media to raise awareness for several things I advocate for.

So I feel I am educating others, so I won’t give that up.

The point, it seems, is to give up something that is important to you.

The purpose, though, is to draw closer to God. To deepen or have a relationship with God.

If your Lenten fast doesn’t put you on your knees in prayer or truly challenge you to be better it probably isn’t really a fast.

Whether you are a religious person, or you just consider yourself spiritual, this list is a challenge for everyone.

Every day I will try but I know it’s going to be hard and that’s a good thing it will make me so much aware of exactly how I need to work on myself. I encourage you to try it as well.

Below is a list I saw posted on line and I am sharing it with you.

The Fast and Feast

Fast from being negative and thinking less of yourself. Feast on God made you in his image .

Fast from judging others. Feast in the Christ who dwells within them.

Fast from emphasis on differences. Feast on the Spirit that unites.

Fast from words that pollute. Feast on phrases that purify.

Fast from discontent. Feast on gratitude.

Fast from anger. Feast on patience.

Fast from gossip. Feast on purposeful silence.

Fast from pessimism. Feast on optimism.

Fast from worry. Feast on trust.

Fast from complaining. Feast on appreciation.

Fast from negativism. Feast on affirmation.

Fast from personal anxiety. Feast on unceasing prayer.

Fast from hostility. Feast on nonviolence.

Fast from bitterness. Feast on forgiveness.

Fast from self-concern. Feast on compassion for others.

Fast from discouragement. Feast on hope.

Fast from lethargy. Feast on enthusiasm.

Fast from suspicion. Feast on truth.

Fast from thoughts that weaken. Feast on promises that inspire.

Fast from the darkness of sin. Feast on the light of Christ.

Enjoy Lent and the beautiful spiritual journey that begins

Stress is an inevitable part of life. Seven out of ten adults in the United States say they experience stress or anxiety daily, and most say it interferes at least moderately with their lives. Exercising Body and Mind

The physical benefits of exercise-improving physical condition and fighting disease—have long been established, and physicians always encourage staying physically active. Exercise is also considered vital for maintaining mental fitness, and it can reduce stress. Studies show that it is very effective at reducing fatigue, improving alertness and concentration, and at enhancing overall cognitive function. This can be especially helpful when stress has depleted your energy or ability to concentrate.

When stress affects the brain, with its many nerve connections, the rest of the body feels the impact as well. So it stands to reason that if your body feels better, so does your mind. Exercise and other physical activity produce endorphins—chemicals in the brain that act as natural painkillers—and also improve the ability to sleep, which in turn reduces stress. Meditation, acupuncture, massage therapy, even breathing deeply can cause your body to produce endorphins. And conventional wisdom holds that a workout of low to moderate intensity makes you feel energized and healthy.

Scientists have found that regular participation in aerobic exercise has been shown to decrease overall levels of tension, elevate and stabilize mood, improve sleep, and improve self-esteem. Even five minutes of aerobic exercise can stimulate anti-anxiety effects.

Prayer

When stress & anxiety’s got you in its grip, it’s hard to avoid worrying. But there’s a technique that can help. I call it “breathing prayer

Try this: Close your eyes and inhale slowly, imagining pulling the Spirit in so fully that it fills every pore of your body. Make sure your stomach expands; you want to be pregnant with peace. Exhale slowly through your nose.

You can pray while you do this (though if you’re anxious when you start, you probably won’t think of it until after a few breaths, when your head starts to clear). Simple prayers work best:

While inhaling

While exhaling

Come Holy Spirit…

fill my heart

Lord Jesus…

grant me your peace

Lord Jesus…

I love you

If you practice when you’re not in the throes of wild anxiety, it will be easier to pray this way when you are. But “breathing prayer” is a good addition to any regular prayer time. Anything that clears the head and calms the body frees us up to hear God better. And that’s what prayer is all about.

Always Check with your doctor if you have muscle skeleton issues before starting any yoga or exercise program.

Excuse Me Are You Drunk or High…

It saddens me to see men and women young and old become addicted to drugs and alcohol

I have lost so many friends because of both.

They went from smart individuals with great paying jobs to being homeless , liars and thieves and how terrible it usually ends in jail or worse death .

With all the information online and the news about drug addiction, overdoses, people having damage to their hearts brains memories because of drugs not just heroin but crack, coke, crystal meth, speed, downers pain pills, valuim, xanax, and yes I am including alcohol and weed.

How can smart people choose to go down such a dark black path that leads to destruction of their lives? And the lives of their family’s?

Do they not understand or care that it rips families apart.

I’m sorry I’ve had my share of pain both physical and emotional and heartache as well as loss , loss of both parents, loss of friends due to death due to disease or overdose or suicide, and I’m here to tell you you need to learn how to cope with life or your going to end up dead.

I’m lucky I guess I always knew how to cope sure not always productive but never destructive.

I see old friends who last year were making 80-100,000 a year now homeless and ruined by cocaine , alcohol and heroin.

Their families destroyed, all because they couldn’t cope with something or someone and started to use drugs or alcohol to bury their feelings and pain……

I’ve attended funerals of friends who died from eating to many somas or xanax that they went to sleep and never woke up.

Or an old classmate overdosed on heroin

Or was killed in a car accident because they were drunk.

Or ended up in jail because they couldn’t hold a damn job any longer and resorted to theft and some prostitution.

Or they are on disability because they fucked up their heart because of cocaine and or crack.

I’ve had friends die from suicide because they were so fucked up they had no idea that the problems they had were just temporary and chose to kill them self.

GET A GRIP PEOPLE!!

I mean we preach to our kids not to do this and yet adults feel they are above this. Wake up call…. YOUR NOT

And kids well kids and young adults have that not me and no fear attitude until the shit hits the fan… and it will sooner or later it will ….

And what about kids today. How can they even start on this shit? They hang out with losers ruining their lives before they even have a chance to live it.

Why do people feel the need to “party and or get high”?

Can’t you have fun with out it?

From what I see you still look fucking miserable and lost. And you sure look like hell so where’s the fun?

Grow up and wake the fuck up people

Drugs and Alcohol KILLS if you don’t think it will You your living a lie.

As holidays are here seems like everyone feels the need to celebrate something and that’s ok if you are a responsible. You don’t drink and drive. You. Know when to stop but some will overindulge with alcohol drugs or both and wind up with DUIs , Go to court and lose your drivers license, pay court costs, insurance rates skyrocket, attorneys fees possible jail time and let’s not forget possible death to you or someone else.

Plus you can and eventually will be come addicted either physically or mentally or both.

So be smart don’t drink and do drugs and for god sake don’t drive under the influence!!

Globally, alcohol misuse was the fifth leading risk factor for premature death and disability in 2010. Among people between the ages of 15 and 49, it is the first. .

In the age group 20–39 years, approximately 25 percent of the total deaths are alcohol attributable

So imagine if your in a room with 100 people 25% is 25 people that could die from alcohol.

Alarming!!

And stats are just as bad across the board when people use drugs!

And who the hell wants to willingly take Molly? Are people that stupid it’s called the date rape drug for a reason!

People will slip you this in your drink or lie and tell you it’s something else…

I’m just shocked at how dumb people are…..

if you think it can’t happen to you…it probably will …

Do why chance becoming and alcoholic or addicted to drugs?

Or killing you or done innocent person in a crash because you want to get high and try to escape reality….hopefully you know that drinking and drugs don’t make your problems go away….if anything they will make them worse…..

So all you adults and kids

Grow the fuck up get a grip! And get some help. Before you end up in jail or dead!!!

Detoxing from what I have seen others go through is a version of hell….

If your reading this and in recovery please share your words of wisdom in comments please. We need to save some lives!!

I see what it’s doing to your wife, or your husband or your parents or your old friends who are truly worried about you!!

If your a teen or young adult your I don’t give a fuck attitude will get you killed or a life of pain and addiction which will lead to death.

http://www.couragetospeak.org/aboutus/couragetospeakstories.aspx

Maybe I just had more experience dealing with heartache and pain early in life and learned to cope better.

Just to name a few tragedies in my life

I remember watching my dad so many times as a young child age 8 having heart attacks open heart surgery nearing death. Fighting to live he didn’t drink he didn’t use drugs but his drug was cigarettes I remember being scared that my dad was going to die.

I saw him try so many times to get back to work but his heart wouldn’t allow it

He had his his 1st heart attack at age 39 and he didn’t use drugs he just had a bum ticker he sadly died at age 56 I was 25.

I watched my mother die at age 65

I had no brothers and sisters so I basically was now an orphan….

I was physically attacked in hs Thank God a friend saw it and saved me or I would have been raped.

I had an abusive first marriage I suffered joblessness homelessness and I never reached for drugs or alcohol to cope.

I smoked weed in hs for a brief moment I dreamt when I was older but I never abused it.

I stopped before I got in to deep.

I remember being in pain from a car accident in 2000 and all the doctors wanted to do was medicate me. At first I did what they said but I saw what it was doing to me… I was becoming depressed so I said screw them fired them .

I’m not against people in pain getting help I am against drug and alcohol abuse of any kind ……

Are we that lost and weak or ungrounded that we have to use substances just to cope?

Or is that your excuse!!!

I will pray for you to wise up !

Please call and talk to someone get help before it’s to late!!

How would you feel if you watched your friends head down the wrong path …would you watch them die? Or try to help them get help !!!

Stress-Anxiety & How To Cope

Holidays seem to cause people more stress.

Maybe they are missing a loved one.

Maybe they are working and going to school.

Maybe they are trying to stretch their dollar to pay bills and find a way to buy gifts.

Maybe they already suffer from depression and holidays just add to that depression.

Maybe they suffer from alcohol or drug addiction or food addiction and all the parties whether it’s a work party family gathering often unfortunately includes alcohol and food and lately drugs.

Or all of the above.

It seems today so many people young and old lack good coping skills.

Learning how to cope properly can go a long way for your everyday health. Let’s face it Stress is a health killer.

And it can lead to addiction if your trying to “escape” all the stress and anxiety but medicating whether it’s by food, alcohol, drugs won’t help it will in fact make things worse .

Here, are some of the the best and worst ways to de-stress right now.

And don’t be afraid to reach out to someone and talk about it. A qualified professional counselor or pastor or social worker can help.

BEST WAYS GET SOME FRESH AIR

Research shows that the vitamin D boost from sunlight may elevate your levels of feel-good serotonin. And, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells around you redirects your focus from your worries.

GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD

Do you ever get that never-ending loop of negative thoughts and what-ifs playing in your head?

That’s because stress likes to mess with your mind. A surefire and fun way to get out of your head is to engage in activities that put the focus on your hands or body (think kneading bread, sketching a picture, knitting a scarf, find a craft . As your hands and fingers begin to fall into those familiar rhythmic moves, it sends a signal to your brain that immediately relaxes you and makes you feel grounded.

So immerse yourself in a creative, engaging activity and get ready to press the mute button.

CONNECT TO YOUR SPIRITUAL SIDE

For many centuries, religious groups and native tribes worldwide have used prayer beads to guide their spiritual practice, and research shows that spirituality boosts mood

Buy a set of prayer beads or make your own, and then create a positive affirmation or mantra that resonates with you.

It’s not about religion it’s spiritual mindfulness

Then, next time stress hits, repeat your affirmation as you work your way around and touch each bead.

The more you go around, the more you’ll experience a sense of power and detachment from the source of anxiety as your brain switches into a meditative cadence.

Some suggestions

It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not.

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we.

VISUALIZE CALM

Find a quiet space, close your eyes, focus your breathing, and transport yourself to your happy place for a few minutes each day. Research from the University of California, Los Angeles shows your body actually produces less of the stress hormone cortisol when engaging in guided imagery

There are plenty of books and articles written on the subject if you need help getting started, but the most important thing is to find a comforting and calming image that works for you (a beautiful blue ocean might be totally relaxing to one person, but a nightmare for someone who’s afraid of water).

Find a beautiful nature picture that makes you happy and use it.

TAKE A BATH

Water has an innate soothing effect on the mind and body since it connects us back to our time in the womb,

Schedule a regular time to soak in the tub. Further your bliss by pairing your bath with scented bath beads.

Pick a scent that smells best to you or go for lavender or jasmine, both of which possess stress-reducing properties.

Just 5-10 minutes can help your stress.

MY FAVORITE EXPRESS YOUR GRATITUDE

Studies have revealed the positive effects of expressing gratitude. While studying brain activity, National Institutes of Health researchers found subjects who showed more gratitude had higher levels of activity in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain that has a huge influence on our stress levels.

Plus, gratefulness also activated the regions associated with dopamine, one of those feel-good neurotransmitters. To reap these stress-reducing benefits, write down your feelings of gratitude daily in a journal, or by sending little notes to friends or family letting them know how much you appreciate them. I do try to tell my family I love you and I’m grateful every day.

EXERCISE

Exercise may be the healthiest stress buster : it revs your body’s production of feel-good endorphins, it can help regulate your sleep, lowers the symptoms associated with mild depression, boosts your energy, and helps you remain calmer and more focused, all of which can go a long way toward stress management. While it’s easy to let a daily exercise routine slide when you’re overwhelmed, take steps to incorporate it daily.

WORST THINGS YOU CAN DO : DRINKING, SMOKING, DRUGS AND OTHER VICES

Drowning your stress in a bottle of wine or a pack of cigarettes or a pill or a line might seem to bring a release in the moment, but turning to unhealthy vices like drinking, drugs, smoking, or even too much caffeine only sets you up to stress out more once the high wears off. And will lead to addiction and possibly death.

Since these habits tend to increase the Negative Impact stress is already having on your body (raising your blood pressure, making you jittery, moody, feeling lost, keeping you awake at night to name just a few), you enter into a vicious cycle of feeling more stressed out and then returning to the vice over and over.

DONT HIBERNATE

The thought of hiding away under the covers sounds pretty great when there’s so much to deal with beyond your bedroom door, but sleeping too much isn’t the answer. Studies show that the more you sleep, the more tired you actually feel.

Increased lethargy is only going to make it that much harder for you to focus and much less likely to deal with the stressors at hand.

Plus, studies that have shown an association between chronic oversleeping and diabetes, heart disease, weight gain, and even higher rates of death (though it’s unclear if too much sleep causes these problems).

Adding health problems to your already heavy load is only going to exacerbate your stress levels.

DONT DWELL ON THE NEGATIVE

If you make a mistake at work, or school or home do you assume you’re going to get fired? Do you think you’re going to fail?

Have a fight with your spouse or significant other and worry the relationship may be over?

It’s not uncommon to jump to worst-case scenarios when dealing with an upsetting issue, but blowing things out of proportion only intensifies your stressed. When we’re feeling stressed it’s very easy to view ourselves in a negative light, . Way to soften your inner chatter, goes to negative focus on positive I suggest looking at things from a different perspective. Talk to yourself as if you were offering advice to your best friend and odds are you’ll have much more compassionate and positive things to say.

DONT EAT YOUR FEELINGS

Like alcohol or drugs, food often becomes a crutch when coping with difficult times. I’ve been guilty of this.

Soothing your pain with a high-calorie, high-sugar, or high-fat comfort foods feels good at first, but it can quickly spiral out of control when your mind and body begin to associate negative emotions with eating.

At the first sign of stress, anger, or sadness you’ll instinctively reach for food rather than dealing with the feelings at hand.

Overeating can cause weight gain and make you feel worse about yourself.

DONT IGNORE THE PROBLEM

While it’s normal to take a mental time out once in a while to watch a funny movie or meet a friend for lunch, consistently avoiding the stress in your life is counterproductive.

When you evade your problems, you don’t allow yourself to process or understand what you’re dealing with.

The more you ignore something whether it’s a concrete problem like paying off bills or an emotional one like the fear of losing a job the greater it’s going to get.

Your best bet is to reach out for help and make a plan of action that will eventually diminish your problems and alleviate your stress.

Talk to a counselor , a pastor, a family member.

There is nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed by in asking for help. We don’t judge you.

We are humans and we make mistakes and we get stressed and we feel stuck sometimes.

But we’re not stuck.

Please reach out to a professional if you feel the stress in your life is overwhelming.

And if no one has said it to you today.

Your a wonderful person who is going through a hard time. You can and will get through this. Believe in yourself. Like I believe in you.

God Bless You.

God Never Forgets Us ,Even When We Forget About Him

It’s important to remember that even when we forget God, He never forgets us! He knows what’s happening to us every moment of the day, and He also watches over us. The reason is because He loves us with a love that never fades. Isn’t that fabulous! His unconditional love is always there for us.

The Bible says, “You are precious and honored in my sight, and,I love you” (Isaiah 43:4).

But we have to also remember God does want us to walk with Him every moment of the day and the first step is to begin the day with Him.

Far to often mornings are hurried for most of us , or many that choose to sleep in, but we need , no we must develop the habit of setting aside a few minutes every morning to be alone with God.

Pray about things you know you’ll be facing that day, and read a portion of God’s Word, the Bible.

Then let that portion of the Bible take root in your soul all day long, remembering it and calling it to mind.

In addition, we must develop the habit of constant prayer. I am working on this and now it’s the first thing I do. And even in different situations I find myself saying a prayer vs worrying about what ever it is I may be facing that day, that moment.

When you meet someone new, utter a silent prayer for them. When you learn about a problem someone is having, pray for them. If it’s poor health, job loss, school, drug problems , etc…

When someone tries your patience, pray for them. The Bible says, “Pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Finally, just ask God to remind you of His love for you not just at church once a week or at the end of the day, but repeatedly.

Some day, we will be in Christ’s presence forever but may it begin now.

Pay attention to those you are friends with or hangout with. Are they also into God? Do they pray and attend church? Or do they try to pull you into the let’s say the dark side….

They drink to much, club to much, use or experiment with drugs to much, use caution with certain people.

Don’t get dragged into their world.

Stand strong and tall in your faith.

Be an example, not a follower . You don’t have to give up your friends but… matter is this:

If you follow Christ, you’re going to probably not have some behaviors in your life, not have some relationships in your life you’ve had in the past.  There is a price tag.  Jesus said, “If anyone will come after me, let him deny himself, pick up his cross daily and follow me.”

Here’s the issue, is you can’t have it both ways.  God loves you, but He is the master and the king of the universe and He’s the king of your heart.  And as you surrender, He says, I want you to do life my way.

And there are times where you give up some relationships.  I remember early in my spiritual life I was a newly divorced from my 1st husband and some of my friends said it’s not good to just sit home, so I went running to different bars and doing stuff.  It was cool at first but I seen so many at these bars unhappy trying to drown their sorrows or college kids trying to fit in by drinking just to be part of the crowd. I realized, you know something, I can’t continue in those behaviors.

But you know something, after a few months, I didn’t go there with them.  I didn’t give up those relationships.  And, you know, we still were friends and we talked religion and some came to Christ.

I remember a fellow that was dating a girl who had attempted suicide .

It was because my life was different he came to talk to me.  I gave some information and also a few phone numbers to my church pastor and a couple counseling places.

And they both ended up getting married and coming to Christ and she got the help she needed.

You know, God’s plan is better, but there may be some short-term pain before there’s long-term gain.

You know, that’s life in Gods kingdom.

God loves you, but just as you make a sacrifice for people that you love, God is asking you to make some sacrifices for Him.

That is part of walking with Jesus Christ.

Many follow Hod and then give up because God wasn’t answering their prayers.

Many Christians feel this same frustration. I know I have.

We ask God for something, then wait for him to do what we want. We forget that God knows what’s best for us.

I think God gets blamed for a lot of unanswered prayers that he actually did answer, just not in the way we wanted him to.

God’s response to our sometimes selfish and immature prayers is often “let’s wait” or “this isn’t best for you.” For some people, these “negative” answers feel like non-answers.

Show people the loving God you know through your actions, lifestyle and faithfulness to God.

A life lived for God speaks for itself.

If you’re certain you won’t be able to sleep tonight, why not spend that time with God? Or just spend time with him before bed.

Here are a few Psalms or Scriptures to pray over and encourage and calm you.

One of my favorite times of the day are the few minutes of quiet right before I fall asleep for the night. The house is sill and I have some time to process my thoughts and feelings in the cool dark of my bedroom and sometimes in the living room .

I wait for all my my muscles to just relax as I drift into dreamland, and then some nights I don’t. The mind wonders .

So I turn to my favorite Psalms

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. – Psalm 4:8 NIV

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. – Psalm 91:1,5,11

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
~Psalm 121:1-4

When we cry out to the Lord – He hears and He sustains us.

I cried aloud to the Lord,
and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah
I lay down and slept;
I woke again, for the Lordsustained me.
~Psalm 3:4-5

Jesus commands that we do not worry about tomorrow.  We need to obey this.

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
~Matthew 6:34

Life

Life doesn’t always introduce you to the people you want to meet.

Sometimes life puts you in touch with the people you need to meet ,to help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you, and to gradually strengthen you into the person you were meant to become.

Say to yourself, regardless of whatever it is that you are facing, I will be all right.

Create an atmosphere of good positive that is about peace, healing and hope around yourself.

Get rid of people who bring you down, want to see you fail, or make you question your beliefs.

Whatever it is you are facing unexpected challenges, health problems, loss of a loved one, anxiety and stress, say to yourself.

I am going to be ok. Calm your mind, speak to your body, rest your spirit and relax you mind.

God will not allow you to fail.

My New Homemade Pain Rub.

Real pure essential oils are not cheap. So don’t be fooled by cheap oils. You want them pure.
Essential oils have so many uses, including for serious health problems. This ointment uses the three powerful essentials oils, frankincense, ginger and myrrh, alongside the solid carrier oil, coconut oil.

It’s believed that frankincense oil transmits messages to the limbic system of the brain, which is known to influence the nervous system. It can help improve circulation and lower symptoms of joint pain or muscle pain related to conditions like arthritis, digestive disorders and even asthma.

Ginger essential oil is also made up of about 90 percent sesquiterpenes, which are defensive agents that have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

The bioactive ingredients in ginger essential oil, especially gingerol, have been thoroughly evaluated clinically, and the research suggests that ginger should be used on a regular basis.

A component of ginger essential oil, called Zingibain, is responsible for the oil’s anti-inflammatory properties. This important component provides pain relief and helps ease muscle aches, arthritis discomfort, migraines and also works as a headache remedy.

Lastly, myrrh essential oil also contains sesquiterpenes as well as another primary active compounds called terpenoids, both of which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

Mix all four ingredients into a bowl until well blended. Place this DIY arthritis ointment into a glass jar with a lid for continued use.

Simply massage the ointment in the areas where you feel pain. I use twice daily.

You can also take it to your masseuse and ask him or her to use it while performing a mild massage.

Do not use on open cuts ,sores or stitches

I am the voice of the newly diagnosed and all Avascular Necrosis/Osteonecrosis and Osteoarthritis patients.

There is a struggle that newly diagnosed patients know all too well.

The anger, the pain and the fear of the unknown can have our heads spinning in all different directions day in and day out as the body deteriorates while the brain wanders through all of the possibilities.

Maybe they are wrong , maybe I was misdiagnosed.

I cant possibly have a rare disease/condition. And osteoarthritis both! I already gave spondylolisthesis how much pain can a body endure.

What will I do ?

I have no information

And no place to find support.

Look no further

I’m just like you
I have Osteonecrosis and Osteoarthritis Spondylolisthesis,Factor V, Hypothyroidism and I’m sick of these diagnoses every year it’s something new.
